As a personal challenge and design exercise, I've redesigned the Internet Movie Database (or IMDB). Even though currently the largest online movie database, it's not the most usable and visually interesting movie site out there. I wanted to see how this could be improved. I've tried to make a clear visual distinction between two types of content: relevant content for casual film lovers is placed at the very top, more detailed content for users that want to dig deeper is placed below. The layout is now based on those two different target groups and their behaviour, instead of showing all available information at once.
